8.45am - 5.00pm or stay for Evensong at 5.15pm

A free event with donations of £10 welcome on the day

Durham Cathedral was a Benedictine monastery for over four hundred years and its buildings embody that way of life. This introductory study day will provide an overview of the Benedictine tradition as lived in the Cathedral in the past, include a visit to some of the monastic buildings and will offer insights into how Benedict’s wisdom can helpfully inform non-monastic lives today.
No previous knowledge is necessary.

The day begins with Morning Prayer in the Cathedral at 8.45am and concludes with Evensong at 5.15pm.

A free event with donations of £10 welcome on the day. Tea and coffee will be provided – please bring your own lunch or eat in the Undercroft Restaurant. Contact events@durhamcathedral.co.uk to reserve a place.
