FANS of thrillers and crime fiction can get advice from a new author and a signed copy of a new book at a special event later this month.

The Word, National Centre for the Written Word, at South Shields, will welcome North East author, A.M. Peacock on 29 September to celebrate the launch of his debut novel, Open Grave.

And crime fans will be able to ask questions about the novel and A.M.’s writing at An Audience with A.M. Peacock, which takes place between 2:30pm – 3:30pm, as well as pick up their own signed copy of the new book.

Open Grave, which is being published on 26 September by Bloodhound Books, follows DCI Jack Lambert as he investigates a series of murders – including a body washed up on the banks of the River Tyne – all while battling his own personal demons and a criminal past.

A.M. grew up in South Shields and recently started the South Shields Fiction Writers group, which meets at The Word on the first and last Sunday of the month between 1pm – 3pm.

Tania Robinson, Head of Marketing and Culture at The Word, National Centre for the Written Word is delighted that A.M. will be heading to the centre to celebrate the release of Open Grave.

“We often welcome authors to The Word but it’s especially exciting to host an event with an author who is a home grown talent,” said Tania.

“Everyone loves a good mystery and Open Grave sounds like it has ticked every box with what it takes to make a fantastic thriller.

“It’s a great opportunity for fans of the genre to get first look at the new novel and pose their questions to the author.”
