In 2015 a small collection of glass plate negatives were uncovered in the Museum of Hartlepool’s photographic archives. The previously unseen negatives are mug shots taken by Hartlepool Borough Police, a small force which served Hartlepool Headland from 1851 to 1947. Their faces have been exposed to the public for the first time by artist Jade Sweeting, Cleveland College of Art and Design.
