Andrew Hankinson will read from his debut book, You Could Do Something Amazing With Your Life (You Are Raoul Moat), about the murderer Raoul Moat. Told in second-person, it uses court notes, interviews, and audio and documentary evidence gathered over several years. The London Review of Books called it ‘powerfully and claustrophobically effective’, Times Literary Supplement called it ‘uncomfortable work, and necessary’, and Jon Ronson called it ‘brilliantly written’. It is shortlisted for a Crime Writers’ Association Award. Andrew is studying for an MA in Creative Writing at Newcastle University.

This popular series is now in its 14th year, offering food for thought and designed to fit neatly into your lunch hour. Events begin at 1pm and are free – all very welcome.
