Have fun designing, building and launching your own stomp paper rockets (as well as taking it home afterwards) – all materials supplied.

Firstly, we will learn the principles of air-powered rocket flight using straw rockets. Once you have designed, built, tested and modified these small rockets we will move onto the much larger stomp rockets. Build your rocket and then experience the fun and excitement of launching it!

Experiment with Isaac Newton’s laws of motion to see how high and how far your rocket can travel. These rockets can fly for several hundred feet and in excess or 30mph! Rocket kit prize for design that flies the furthest.

Suitable for ages 5-10 years. Bring warm/waterproof clothing and wear boots/wellies. This event is part of the North Pennines Stargazing Festival running from 20 October to 4 November 2018 – www.NorthPenninesStarFest.org.uk

Location : South Tynedale Railway
