20 July 2019

Join us for a day of family-fun on Saturday 20 July as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Moon landing and our Amazing Space exhibition (opening Saturday 29 June). There’ll be storytelling with Simon Bartram, author and illustrator of Bob, The Man on the Moon, Space science fun with Big Bang Science Party, t-shirt designing with artist Mik Richardson, a FabLab drop-in session, crafts, and more!

You can get a sneak preview of our Elmer in Elmer’s Great North Parade on our Space Takeover Day – we’re excited to welcome our patchwork figure Elmer Armstrong for a special appearance before the trail begins in August. Created by artist Mik Richardson, Elmer Armstrong celebrates the first man to walk on the Moon – Neil Armstrong, and will be in our Atrium for visitors to meet on the day!
