23 April 2017

11:00 To 16:00

Standard Entrance Fee

For the second year running, Newcastle Castle will be turning back the clock to celebrate St George’s Day – medieval style!

On Sunday 23 April, the main man himself will be galloping around outside the Castle on his mighty steed (offering photo opportunities a-plenty!) – and there may even be an appearance from his nemesis, the villainous dragon. Inside the Keep there will be various costumed characters, demonstrating – amongst other things – medieval food, music and combat. There will also be Maypole dancers from 1pm, for those inclined to join in and learn the ropes!

Meanwhile in the Black Gate, there will be lots of craft activities to keep little knights and princesses entertained. Make your own paper dragons to take home and terrorize your friends and neighbours with!

No pre-booking required; standard entrance fee applies.
