Alan is a freelance professional wildlife photographer and writer, acting as one of our judges in the North East Wildlife Photography competition.

In his spare time he acts as a safari guide in Africa and brings some of his experiences to life in his talk, illustrated by his own images of African wildlife.

He will reflect on the “ethical side” of safari tourism and has promised that there may be the odd photo of a lion.
