We invite you to enjoy classic films related to the Stoll Picture Theatre over three action-packed days! Feature films will be accompanied with animation workshops, scintillating talks about film, dainty teas and an opportunity for those with memories of the Stoll to recall those days. We will also be presenting screenings of some of the first films shown at the establishment, including archive material and a range of exhibits.
THE SINGING FOOL (1928) – An Exhibition Event in the Bistro, 5.30pm – 7.15pm
Tickets: FREE (space is limited so tickets must be reserved)
Directed by Lloyd Bacon
We will be presenting informal screenings of some of the first silent films shown at the theatre in our Bistro Bar.
This was the first “talkie” screened at the Stoll and the vehicle that went on to cement Jolson’s reputation as The World’s Greatest Entertainer.
Archive Footage will be playing in the Bistro and Coffee Lounge throughout the day. (No tickets required)
