John Grundy, one of the North East’s favourite TV historians, turns his attention to the history of Newcastle upon Tyne, looking to sum up its history in just over an hour! Always knowledgeable, often funny and sometimes irreverent, this talk is perfect for anyone who is passionate about our great regional capital.

This event is part of Talks on Tyne: a collaboration between Newcastle Castle, Tyne Bridge Publishing and Newcastle Libraries, connecting local authors and historians with their readers. This is the second Talks on Tyne, following a successful inaugural programme in 2016, during which many of the events sold out.

The Black Gate has a lift and is fully accessible to wheelchair users. Refreshments – including tea and coffee – will be available to purchase at this event.
