PREVIEW: Sam Bailey @ The Phoenix Theatre, Blyth
Posted on August 31st 2017 by Whats on Northeast
You might recently have seen Sam Bailey adding another string to her already impressive bow by playing Mama Morton in the hit musical ‘Chicago’, but now she’s back doing what she does best – singing her heart out.
Sam is off on a brand new UK tour, and as part of it she’ll be heading to the Phoenix Theatre in Blyth on 8th September to sing some of her best works. Back in 2013, Sam became an overnight sensation as she won the hearts and minds of the public (and the judges) on The X Factor, who voted her the winner. Her debut single ‘Skyscraper’ skyrocketed to the top of the charts, making her the first winner of the talent competition in three years to win the coveted end of year spot.
Since then, Sam’s only gone from strength to strength, not only being a highlight of The X Factor Live Tour but also supporting none other than Beyoncé in 2014. Not long after her debut LP ‘The Power Of Love’ went straight to number one in the UK Albums Chart. Not a bad start to a career.
Last year, as well as starring in the smash hit musical, Sam also found the time to release another album, ‘Sing My Heart Out’, and that’s exactly what you can expect her to do in Blyth. Mixing songs both old and new, prepare to be blown away once again by this singular singing talent.
