Join in with activities and crafts, inspired by the objects and stories within our galleries, exhibitions and collections. This summer our events are inspired by the King Coal exhibition on until 29 September:

Summer holiday 2018 themes: 

• 24 July: pit pictures, using charcoal
• 31 July: inter-generational quilting
• 7 August: hand print pit ponies – and meet Marley the pit pony outside the museum between 12-1pm
• 14 August: celebrating national allotment week with painting paper pots and planting seeds
• 21 August: mini banner designs
• 28  August: group miner banner making
