Join us at The Word for an audience with Glenda Young.
Glenda is a writer from Sunderland. Her debut novel “Belle of the Back Streets” is one of three books to be published by Headline. Set in the coalmining village of Ryhope, Sunderland in 1919, “Belle of the Back Streets” will be published in hardback, audio and ebook in November 2018 and in paperback in March 2019. Two further novels set in Ryhope will be published in 2019/2020.
Glenda is also a prize-winning short story writer and her short fiction has appeared in magazines including Take a Break, My Weekly, The People’s Friend and The People’s Friend Fiction Special. She is author of the first ever weekly soap opera, Riverside, for The People’s Friend magazine – the longest running women’s magazine in the world. And, a life-long fan of the soap opera Coronation Street, Glenda also runs two Coronation Street fan websites.
