Eta Ingham Lawrie returns to Bailiffgate with ‘The Breath of Colour’, her stunning new exhibition of over 30 wall hangings, capturing the light and moods of the hills and coastline of the Border region, Orkney and Snowdonia.
Eta has taken part in many group exhibitions internationally and has had over 40 solo exhibitions; her work is found in private and public buildings and collections in Britain, continental Europe and further afield. Eta hand dyes her fleeces and wool in an amazing range of vegetable and mineral colours to use in her inspirational freeform weavings which include natural-found objects such as stone, shell and wood.
During the exhibition Eta’s wall hangings will be for sale, as will her individually designed scarves and shawls notable for their subtle range of colours and textures. Eta is also running one free form weaving workshop in September (sold out) and throughout the exhibition her handmade weaving kits, hand dyed natural wool pack sand unique gifts will be on sale in the museum shop.
