Special Service: Epiphany Procession with Carols
@ Durham Cathedral
Book Now22 January 2017
3.30pm
Towards the end of the Epiphany season (which lasts until Candlemas on 2 February) the Cathedral holds an Epiphany Procession, which begins with the Cathedral Choir processing, as the Magi (Three Kings) did, ‘from the East’. A service of readings and music follows the journey of the Magi as Christ is revealed to them. A procession leads to the Cathedral Crib, where incense is offered; to the Font, to reaffirm baptismal promises to God; and to the Nave and High Altar, giving thanks for the transforming grace of Eucharist.
Music sung by the Cathedral Choir.
