Raise your glass as Auckland Castle hosts its first ever pop-up pub. The Library Tea Room will be joining forces with Bishop Auckland-based Black Paw Brewery for this one-off evening celebrating a great British drinking institution.

Indulge in proper pub grub Auckland Castle-style with pork pies, pickled onions, pork scratchings, Scotch eggs, scampi, nuts and crisps, while pitting your wits’ in a pub quiz and keeping an ear out for dirty Gertie (30) and Queen B (73) in what promises to be an hilarious game of stand-up bingo.

The pub quiz requires a team of six, with prizes donated by local food suppliers.

Food menu for the Pop-up Pub is:

Smoked salmon scotch egg, harissa mayo
Gammon sausage roll, caramelised pineapple
Monkfish cheek “scampi”, curry mayo

Piercebridge farm organic chicken & leek pie, mushroom ketchup
Pickled onions
Braised red cabbage

Smoked brie de weardale, breadsticks
Spiced nuts
Salt & vinegar heritage potato crisps
