NSU, Newcastle

We’re the big red brick building on King’s Walk in the centre of campus, perfectly located to keep you entertained, well fed and with plenty of space to study.

The Students’ Union (NUSU) is known by all of our students as the place where you really can Live, Work, and Play. We’re the social side, the welfare side and overall general fun side of your time at University. Want to party? We’re here. Need to study somewhere a little less stuffy? We’re here. Need a Subway sandwich, Domino’s pizza, Starbucks Frappuccino and get your dissertation bound, all at the same time? You guessed it, we’re here and, not to brag, but we’ve got it all.

NUSU is run by students, for students. Your time at University really matters to us, that’s why we’ve had a huge £8 million refurbishment to make sure we can provide you with the best facilities to help make your time here with us the best it ever could be. We have a team of 6 Sabbatical officers and 9 Part Time Officers who represent you and your views from academic to welfare and all round wellbeing.

There is so much you can do at NUSU to get involved. Whether it’s joining one of over 200 societies and 60 clubs, getting a part time job, joining our Guardian award winning student media The Courier, Newcastle Student Radio (NSR) and The Courier TV (TCTV),  getting support and advice from our Student Advice Centre (SAC), watching a band, going to one of our legendary Throwback Saturdays, going horseback riding, rock climbing and getting fish and chips in Tynemouth with our activities scheme Give it a Go or just simply hanging out with your friends, NUSU has everything (and we mean everything) covered.

We’ve even got all of the amenities you’ll need under one roof too – there’s Mens Bar, Starbucks, Domino’s, Subway, Santander, Centurion IT and Sploshh Printers. So really, you’ll never need to go anywhere else!
