Middleton Lodge
Middleton Lodge is a Georgian country estate and a family home. Built in 1780 by the architect John Carr, it is a classic example of a Palladian country house.
The estate is set in 200 acres of our own beautiful English countryside, with views across North Yorkshire. The Main House, still home to the Allison family, is available for private hire. It has become a favourite for weddings, balls, shooting parties, photoshoots and has appeared in film and television productions. The events team has repeatedly won accolades at national level.
The Coach House Restaurant, Hotel and Treatment Rooms, in the lovingly restored honey coloured sandstone stables and farmhouse buildings, has become a destination in its own right, winning awards from the Good Hotel Guide and Alistair Sawdays Special Places to Stay.
For the ultimate in relaxation, The Treatment Rooms focus on natural, holistic facial and body treatments from VOYA, REN and Kiss The Moon. The emphasis in the restaurant is on homemade local seasonal produce, where possible sourced from the estate. The courtyard gardens, filled with lavender, rose, apple and rosemary make their way onto your plate.
We have recently been restoring our 2.5 acre kitchen garden and orangery, which will provide produce for the restaurant. We are five minutes from Richmond; ten minutes from Tees Valley Airport and Darlington Train station; 40 minutes from Newcastle, an hour from York and 2.5 hours from London via train.
