For Ballet fans, the Classical Ballet & Opera House are presenting The Nutcracker –featuring a live Orchestra with over 30 musicians. Snow flurries, sweets, princes, magic and love are just some of the elements that will be brought together in this Christmas classic. Full of familiar music such as the Waltz of the Flowers and the Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy, this seasonal favourite is the perfect treat for a night with friends or family. One of the show’s soloists, Ekaterina Floria from Mariupol, Ukraine, comments about her performance: “When dancing I completely try not to think much as it helps me relax and fall into the role, I am dancing so that the audience get to experience the true character of the role.” It’s a festive highlight in our calendar and one not to be missed!
If making and DIY is more your thing, then you may be interested in Queen of Crafting, Dragon and Strictly star Sara Davies who is heading to Newcastle to give you tricks and tips to help make your Christmas magically crafty this year.
