It’s not all about steam!
This year’s Diesel Day will see all three home fleet diesel locomotives hauling both passenger and freight trains. There will be an intensive timetable in operation throughout the day.
The event will mark the return to service of Consett Iron Company locomotive, No.10 which although can’t haul passenger trains, can be seen on demonstration runs in the yard. Our two ex British Railways shunting locomotives, No. 08915 and D2078 will be hauling the passenger service as well as taking a demonstration freight train each throughout the day.
