A NORTH East event company is kicking off Bonfire Night celebrations with a bang this year, with fireworks, street theatre, stage shows and more.
The Big Blaze returns to Lintz Hall Farm, near Burnopfield, on Saturday 2 November, organised by 700 Acres Ltd.
And there is a huge array of entertainment on offer for the whole family, including a fire and angle grinding show, live bands, an array of games and activities in the barn, magicians, fairground rides for all ages and a giant bonfire.
Fancy dress is encouraged, with prizes for those who go the extra mile, and there will be a professional photography station and a photo booth to create a record of the evening.
Or, those who want to hold onto Halloween for a while longer can enjoy spooky street theatre and brave a family-friendly version of the iScream scare maze.
The event will also feature a huge street food and drink village that would rival some food festivals, with vendors including Hatch 76, Tango Burgers, Parm-O-Rama, Hadrian’s Pizza, Little Fishy, Smokie Joe’s, Geordie Bangers and Med Head.
Drinks on offer include mulled wine and cider, a selection of beers from Wylam Brewery, Gin and Tipi and Psycho Sid’s gin and fizz bar.
Richard Tulip, of 700 Acres Ltd, which also organised last year’s sold-out event, is confident there is something for all ages to enjoy.
“Everyone loves a fireworks display at this time of year and we’re working with an award-winning company to create something really spectacular set to music,” said Richard.
“There’s a packed programme of entertainment from start to finish, with plenty of things to do outdoors, along with our heated indoor area where visitors can grab a bite to eat and enjoy the performers.
“It wouldn’t be Bonfire Night without huge flames and we’ve been building our woodpile for months, so it’s sure to be a spectacular sight when we light it.”
The Big Blaze takes place from 4pm until late and is organised in association with Gateshead College.
